Improving the lives of families by providing support through education, communication and advocacy.

Helpful organizations for families in the Central Vermont area

Central Vermont Community Action Council helps people to achieve economic sufficiency with dignity through individual and family development. They work to alleviate the effects of poverty, assist individuals and families to move out of poverty and advocate for long-term change for economic justice. Programs and services are as diverse as small business development, head start and emergency food and fuel.

The Family Center of Washington County fosters the positive growth and development of young children and their families and envisions children and adults as thriving participants in safe and healthy communities.

Good Beginnings strives to promote the optimal health and development of children and families in our region. Their "parents as partners approach" is to promote healthy families, to create a caring community where new parents feel well connected, and every baby can enjoy a "good beginning".

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

      Montpelier Recreation Department

Vermont Birth Network  is an independent forum providing information, education, support and advocacy on healthy, normal birth in Vermont.

Vermont Midwives Alliance  hopes to be your Vermont Portal to Midwifery and midwifery related links for the state of Vermont. You will be able to find links to local Vermont pregnancy resources, midwives in your area, wonderful reading materials to help you make informed choices in your pregnancy, and so much more.
